Keira’s professional acting career started on television after landing a role on “The Bill” and later being chosen to star alongside Natalie Portman in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace”. She continued by starring in “The Hole”, “Princess of Thieves” and “Doctor Zhivago”.
Her first break came with her role in “Bend It Like Backham”, which proved to be a success grossing $18 million in the UK alone, and later another $32 million when it was released in the United States. This exposure allowed her to be cast in “Pirates of the Caribbean”, a movie in which she acted alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. The movie became a blockbuster and established Keira as one of the most promising rising young star.
After appearing in several movies, including “King Arthur”, “Love Actually” and “Domino”, Keira landed a role in “Pride and Prejudice”, a role that she was highly acclaimed for and earned nominations from both Golden Globe and Oscar. She has become the third youngest actress to receive a nomination. The following year, she appeared in a sequel of “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, which became the her biggest commercial success so far.
