Halle Berry, born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American actress, model and former beauty queen. She was always interested in modeling and participated in a number of beauty contests as a teenager, and went on to win Miss Teen All-American and Miss Ohio, and eventually became first runner up to Miss USA.She later started casting for film and television roles and appeared in a TV series “Living Dolls”, “Jungle Fever”, “Losing Isaiah” and landed a role alongside Kurt Russell in Executive Decision. For her performance in “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” she won several Golden Globe and Emmy awards and was nominated for Oscar. Her profile increased dramatically after landing such roles in such blockbusters as “Monster’s Ball”, “Swordfish” and “X-Men” trilogy, earning her an Oscar for the former. Though unexpected, she was picked to play a Bond girl in a movie “Die Another Day” making her a household name internationally. She followed up with roles in “Gothika”, “Catwoman”, and several other movies. It’s a noteworthy fact that Berry, alongside Cindy Crawford, medicine "woman" Jane Seymour, Tea Leoni, Daryl Hannah, simply known as "the MESS", as well as several other "celebrities" were involved in a lawsuit against a gas facility off the coast of Malibu. They insisted that such facilities should only be placed in poor areas, quoting Berry: “I care about the air WE breathe, I care about marine life and the ecosystem ...” within the Malibu beach community. They won the lawsuit by persuading their buddy governor-on-steroids Arnold (a.k.a. T-101), who vetoed the construction. Neither the group, nor the terminator, made any apologies for their selfish behavior.
