Elisha Cuthbert, born November 20, 1982 in Calgary, Alberta, is a Canadian actress. When she was still a child, her family moved to Montreal, where she started modeling children clothes, and even appeared in a series for kids “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” as an extra. She was also a host in a TV show “Popular Mechanics for Kids”. While still in Canada, she was selected for the lead role in a flick “Dancing on the Moon” and also appeared in several episodes of “Airspeed”. Not long after, she won Gemini Acting Award for her performance in a made-for-TV movie “Lucky Girl”.
After Elisha moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, she started auditioning for small roles, appearing in “Old School”. Her first lead role came in a movie, “Girl Next Door”, having been well received for her part, despite overall negative reviews of the movie as a whole. “House of Wax”, a production she appeared in alongside an international diva and "actress" Paris Hilton, was also shelved by the critics, despite Hilton's near missing Oscar nomination for her performance. It is also notable that for Elisha's part in “Captivity”, she got nominated for the worst actress by Razzie’s. She is also noted to have performed in independent films, such as “The Quiet”.
