While her first gigs were several TV commercials, she got a break after being cast as a one of the main character on Disney’s “Kids Incorporated”. She spent the next few years playing roles in TV series “Shaky Ground”, “Byrds of Paradise”, and “Time of Your Life”. Even though the shows were canceled, the experience allowed her to be considered for and landed a role in a blockbuster “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, starring together with Freddie Prinze Junior and Sarah Michelle Gellar, cementing them as one of the most popular young stars in Hollywood. The sequel to the movie also included Jennifer and the movie repeated the success of the original.
Jennifer worked on her music career all along her involvement in movies. Despite the fact that her first album “Let’s Go Bang” didn’t chart, she persevered and was acclaimed for recording a single “How Do I Deal” and it was included in “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” soundtrack, charting in the top 50’s in most countries. She later changed her label in favor of Jive records and recorded an album, having one of the singles “BareNaked” become a hit and peaking at #24 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. Her other single “Can I Go Now” was extremely popular in Holland and Australia, but failed to chart in the Unites States. She continued to contribute her music to movies’ soundtracks, such as “If Only”, releasing such soundtrack singles as “Love Will Show You Everything” and “Take My Heart Back”.
