Nicole Kidman, born on June 20, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an Australian actress, model and singer. She started out by appearing in Australian local productions, including TV series and soap operas, as well as starring in a 3 part series Bangkok Hilton.Her rise to prominence resulted from her landing roles in such movies as “Dead Calm”, “Days of Thunder”, a movie she appeared in alongside her future husband Tom Cruise, and being featured in Hollywood blockbuster “Batman Forever”. A few commercial successes followed with Nicole performing the lead role in movies such as “To Die For”, “Practical magic” acting opposite Sandra Bullock, and last Stanley Kubrick’s film “Eyes Wide Shut”. She won a Golden Globe award for her part in “To Die For”.After cementing herself as a dominant Hollywood actress, she expanded on her skill set by both acting in “Moulin Rouge!” and singing as well earning herself another Golden Globe award in the category Best Actress in a Musical. Following her initiation as a singer, she also co-recorded “Something Stupid” with Robbie Williams for a cover album “Swing When You’re Winning”. Her further roles in “The Others”, “The Interpreter”, “Bewitched” and “Cold Mountain” were all both critically well-received and proved to be commercials successes. She was reported by People magazine to be the second highest paid actress, only behind Julia Roberts.
